Job Requirements

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you can expect to:

• Continuously provide and monitor personal care and medically necessary treatment that complies with professional standards as assigned by the RN Clinical Supervisor and the staff nurse. 

• Adhere to facility procedures and desktop instructions at all times making recommendations for revisions as necessary.

• Report concerns, suspected abuse, neglect, mistreatment or misappropriation immediately to administrative or supervisory team members protecting residents at all times.

• Encourage residents to perform and participate in personal care, therapy and activities to the highest level possible within individualized functional limitations whenever possible.

• Provide feedback of resident response to care and activity to the Staff Nurse and RN Clinical Supervisor whenever appropriate.

• Complete documentation that is appropriate, accurate, descriptive, timely and reflective of each resident’s response to care as required, at least every two hours.

• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures and desktop instructions as assigned by the staff nurse and /or RN Clinical Supervisor.

• Maintain and promote a positive atmosphere of warmth, collaboration and cooperation respecting residents’ rights to confidentiality, individuality, and privacy at all times.

• Assist all direct care staff to provide the highest quality of care delivery.

• Establish and continually maintain good rapport with residents, interdepartmental and administrative team members, therapists, families and guardians. 

Serious Candidates will have the following experience, skills, or education: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Current State Registered Nurse Aide certification (Certified Nurse Aide) in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Nursing / State Nurse Aide Registry is required.

• Minimum 6 months experience in a hospital or long term care facility is required.

• Current CPR / Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification is required.

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

• Must possess and be willing to use good judgment, clinical, and communication skills to provide the highest level of quality resident care possible.

• Must function independently with minimal oversight and with flexibility, personal integrity and compassion while providing care to individuals from diverse backgrounds with varied functional abilities.

• Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel from the nursing department and from other departments.
