Job Description

Responsibilities:

Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face-to-face assessment or provide

triage to the appropriate community referral based on patient need.

Assesses or ensures necessary assessment by a licensed, qualified mental health professional for patients who present for assessment.

Upon assessment of the patient, coordinates with the physician to ensure appropriate treatment is provided either at the hospital or another appropriate provider in the community.

Ensures appropriate screening of medical and behavioral emergency conditions.

Completes all administrative processes of the admission for treatment including, as appropriate, the initial authorization of care with the insurance company/third-party payor.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in a mental health related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of supervised clinical experience.

May have a degree from an accredited nursing program, with a current RN license in the state of employment. CPR or CPI, which may be obtained during orientation.

Masters degree in a mental health related field is preferred

A current license in the state of employment as a RN or LPN.

Maintains education and development appropriate for position.

One to three years of experience in a behavioral health setting is required

Previous assessment and evaluation experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred

Job Requirements

  • Ensure are reaching maximum potential of admissions
  • Reviewing all referrals and making admissions decisions
  • Ensuring admissions and access for patients, caregivers and referral sources
