Job Description

Crown Services in Shelbyville, KY is proud to accept applications for Machine Operators in Shelby and Jefferson Counties! This full time opportunity is on second and third shift, pays $17-20 an hour, D.O.E, and is available immediately!

Summary:


-The Lead Operator position is an hourly position, and reports to the supervisor. The employee is responsible for ensuring that the machine production process runs as efficiently and as smoothly as possible in a safe manner.

Skills and Abilities:

-Must be safety conscious

-Enforces Safety Policies

-Reports unsafe acts or conditions

-Must follow LTT (wi assigned lock)

-Complete 5's and housekeeping assignments (regrind area clean/organized, empty dumpsters/trash/recycle containers)

-Assist in relieving other associates for breaks and lunches

-Assist with training new associates

-Leads the team on histher line

-Able to lead team on all lines

-Other task as assigned by Supervisor

-Must be able to multitask

-Must work well in a team environment

-Must have leadership skills

-Must have good time management skills

-Have a working knowledge of the systems to be able to suggest and implement improvements

Computer and Software Competencies:

- Employees must be able to:

- Must be able to operate a computer (word, excel)

Education and/or Experience:

- Employees should have the following:

- Must be at least 18 years old

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

- 1 or more years of working in a manufacturing environment

Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

-Employees should possess the ability to:

- Ability to move up to 50 pounds

- Repetitive movements

- Standing/walking for 8 - 12 hours at a time

- Exposure to noise

- Exposure to temperature (neat during the summer months)

- Bending, twisting and turning

- Ability to climb stairs and ladders

- Full use of both hands

Safety Responsibilities:

-Follow all safety rules of the facility and perform safety audits

-Wear all proper PPE and follow COVID protocols

Job Requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Bag, stage and label rolls 

-Executes/performs quality test (widin, length, thickness, tensile, bond, weight, ILD) and input into computer 

-Able to set up quality test equipment for appropriate job (including change out of tester heads, Boards) 

-Complete proper paperwork (good rolls, scrap, number of boxes, raw material) 

-Capable of understanding and following JCP's 

-Capable of setting machine up and making machine adjustments (P1, P2 setting, setting blades, winder counter, weight counters) 

-Able to input and adjust setting at the laminator control panel 

-Capable of maintaining appropriate amount of fiber on bale openers 

-Maintaining accurate bale weights and proper documentation (labels off bales) 

-Able to clean oven pans & belts 

-Capable of performing changeovers

 -Pack boxes/totes with correct quantity according to JCP 

-Inspect material for any quality defects (miscuts, delamination, holestspots in material, packing quantity, material on hold) 

-Capable of pulling parts and stacking on conveyor

-Capable of collecting the correct label and filling out property 

-Run Bruno line & lead crew 

-Make boxes 

-Setting up/monitoring AVM control panel and oven 

-Able to establish settings for new process / job 

-Able to lead completion of sample requests 

-Capable of starting oven, air compressor, lights 

-Understands the schedule to be able to recommend suggestions and flex accordingly.

-Changes out dies 

-Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions) 

-Must have the ability to read a ruler (inches and millimeters) 

-Successfully operate a tow motor (w/ license) 

-Able to enter job data in Shopfloor 

-Able to log in, add people to team, log of team (Shopfloor) 

-Able to set up and Vacuum Pack 

-Able to operate Overhead Crane 

-Able to operate the grinder Material Handler Position 

-Able to make scrap bales using the baler 

-Capable of performing operational PM's

-Capable of performing 2 hour shut down PM's

-Minor maintenance on the lines

-Reset PLC when trips 

-Troubleshooting quality and production problems on the lines.
