Job Description for the Calibration Technician II:


Responsibilities performing calibrations:


Calibrates and adjusts customer tools to appropriate standards and provide customer timely calibration services.

Generate calibration certificates and complete work orders.

Relies on pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

On-site calibration at customers' location.

Works under general supervision.


Responsibilities planning of calibrations and evaluation of results:


Calibrates customer equipment and evaluates the results.

Calibrates customer equipment as assigned by Calibration Manager.


Responsibilities for reporting opinions and interpretations:


Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Communicates interpretations with co-workers.

A certain degree of creativity is required.


Responsibilities to method modification and development and validation of new methods:


Participates in the modification and validation of new methods as assigned by Calibration Manager.


Expertise and experience required:


Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.


Qualifications and training programs:


May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.


Managerial duties:


Reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsible for the overall housekeeping of the facility.

Provide reasonable care of equipment, vehicles, and materials

All other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Job Requirements

  • Maintain the calibration procedures, calibration records, calibration standards
  • Track all instruments' calibration status using calibration software
  • Arrange for external calibration of equipment at certified calibration laboratory
  • Arrange for external calibration of equipment at certified calibration laboratory's as required based upon in-house calibration abilities and mandated external calibration requirements
  • Select and maintain calibration standards
  • Perform calibration data entry and report generation including calibration certificates
  • Locate and create calibration procedures
  • Develop and update calibration procedures
  • Installing and removing equipment for repair or calibration
  • Producing schedule for gauge calibration
  • Coordinate outside sources for calibration
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and reports in calibration management data base
  • Perform data entry relating to calibration service into calibration tracking software
  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates
  • Perform inspection and calibration duties
  • Procure and schedules external calibration
  • Generate reports and create accurate calibration specific data using calibration software
  • Perform calibration of equipment in all facilities
  • Prepare calibration certificate, data reports, and maintain electronic calibration database
  • Coordinate all calibration activities involving external calibration services
