This Position is 7am to until the job is done. You must be able to work on call for emergencies.We are willing to train the right candidate. 

As our Fiber Technician you will be responsible for the following:

• Installing, testing and maintaining Infrastructure cabling to include copper and fiber optic both inside and outside facility standards. • fiber splicing and termination single mode and multi mode. • Performing Move/Adds/Changes and providing guidance and training to User personnel in operations procedures and techniques. 

• Ability to work under pressure • Excellent planning, organizing, decision making skills • Extreme attention to detail and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Perform test on fiber optic cables
  • Connecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (AERIAL)
  • Maintain and operate fiber optic and splicing equipment
  • Evaluate all fiber optic cables to engineer specifications
  • Terminating, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables
  • Polishing fiber optic assemblies for medical endoscopes
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all fiber optic cables
  • Oversee the splicing and activation work involving the fiber optic network
  • Perform fiber cleaving and fusion splicing
  • Using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter and OTDR
  • Perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable
  • Ensuring that fiber network documentation
  • Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber
  • Terminate fiber optic cables in Fiber Distribution Panels/li
  • Documenting and testing of all fiber optic cables within the systems fiber optic networks and related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency
  • Oversee the splicing and activation work involving construction and repair of the fiber optic network
  • Perform investigations of cut fiber optic cables and report all information concerning damages
  • Staking sheets for the installation of fiber cables
  • Dispatch according to company procedures
  • Connecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (AERIAL)
