Scope of Responsibilities:


  • Oversee maintenance related functions:

  • PM program/schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needs

  • Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime

  • Analyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problems

  • Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime

  • Maintain maintenance related records 

  • To co-ordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs and to source the most effective repairs and upgrades cost

  • Provide input and ensure completion of CI projects

  • Able to stand in for Facilities Manager in absence

  • Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Maintenance department (e.g. labour, overtime, equipment, travel, etc.).

  • Maintains clear written records

  • Process owner of Maintenance TPM

  • Decision Making:  Quality – stop production when Quality is in question

  • Creates and ensures a safe and secure work environment

  • Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the General Manager

Work Environment:

  • 70 % Plant Floor. 30% Office 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management

  • Overtime as required


Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures

  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company 

Job Requirements


Serious candidates will have experience in manufacturing/machine operation and maintenance.


  • College courses in Maintenance related discipline; Millwright or Electrical certificate of qualification is preferred

  • Strong communicator, both written and oral 

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in Maintenance position in industry; 

  • 3 years at manager level

  • Must have experience in welding/ stamping facility

  • Proficient in Microsoft office

  • High level of time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead a team

  • Strong technical and problem solving skills

  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
