Job Description

In order to produce the materials for sale, factories require the use of many different types of machinery. Machinists are in charge of maintenance and set up for complex machinery, such as CNC or heat/draw lines. Machine Operators load and unload product onto simpler machines, such as printing presses or screw machines.

Previous experience in manufacturing and production will set you above other candidates. Most positions require experience with specific types of machines, but some are trainable for similar experience. Types of machines include:

-Label printers
-CNC, including grinders, lathes, mills, cutters, shears, etc.
-Press machines
-Flexograph printers
-Heat and draw lines for wires and other metals

Some positions require being able to monitor more than one machine at a time. All require quality checks of finished products.

Job Requirements

-Previous experience in any of the above machines is preferred. Some positions are trainable.
-If no machine operating experience, manufacturing skills are useful for training and generally required
-Mechanical inclination
-Overtime (required when offered)
-Blueprint or schematic reading often required for more complex machinist positions
-Ability to lift required products (this is usually under 50lbs, but can be higher depending on position)
-Steel toed boots and other safety gear
