Job Description

Description: Repair and maintain plant machinery, equipment and facilities in accordance with schematic diagrams, blueprints,

operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Repair and maintain equipment safely, productively, and ergonomically

correct. Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, area, paperwork and drawings.

Requirements: Specialized training through trade school (2-year certificate or degree). Previous manufacturing experience in

industrial maintenance preferred.

Daily Tasks: To be completed with instruction from supervisor.

o Repair and preventative maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and facilities including physical structures, piping,

mechanical and electrical systems as required

o Setup, start and operate machinery to test their performance

o Adjust machinery as needed to maintain peak performance

o Use of tooling, hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments to maintain equipment and

facilities in good working order

o Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment

o Listen for unusual sounds, and communicate with supervisors and associates to detect and diagnose malfunctions

o Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts

o Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.

o Preventative maintenance of machine tooling, hand tools and machinery to maintain in good working order

o Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of

machinery and equipment.

o Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and

replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.

o Make and repair counters, benches, partitions, or other wooden structures. Repair and maintain physical structure of

facility

o Install, program and repair automated machinery and equipment, including robots and programmable controllers.

o Setup and operate machine tools, including grinders, milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and

tools.

o Operate welding equipment to join metal parts used to repair or fabricate equipment.

  • Update preventive maintenance tasks to ensure proper maintenance of all equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on production equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all shop equipment
  • Monitor a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program to provide maintenance by manufacturers specifications
  • Provide rotary wing aircraft maintenance on equipment
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and repair multi-trade tasks and preventive maintenance inspections
  • Develop preventative maintenance procedures for automated equipment
  • Assist personnel with maintenance and/or repair of machinery or equipment
  • Qualifying field labor for maintenance
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests
  • Perform preventing building and equipment maintenance inspections
