Job Description

Perform the material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, quality control, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment and supplies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Typically 2+ years of experience in warehouse, stockroom, and/or material handling

  • Minimum 1 year aviation industry experience in inspecting aircraft parts and paperwork

  • Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, inventory management, and web-based applications

  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, customers, vendors, and management

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to lift up to 45lbs

  • Speak, understand, and follow directions in English

Additional Desired Qualification:

Fluency in Spanish a plus.

The duties and responsibilities listed represent tasks commonly performed.

Principal Duties:

  1. Review of inbound shipments, verify traceability and documentation received.

  2. Post parts into the Pentagon.

  3. Perform material handling operations, for example, inventory, shipping/receiving, inspection, and tooling, to ensure inventory control and accuracy

  4. Satisfy internal/external customer shipping deadlines

  5. Administer vendor and carrier contracts to ensure provision of agreed upon service(s) and/or product(s)

  6. Assist the team in resolving complex inventory discrepancies to determine root causes of inventory discrepancies and develop recommendations for corrective action

  7. Maintain competent knowledge of all customer requirements.

  8. Assist with processing drop shipment documentation

  9. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Computer skills necessary to input and retrieve data for inventory management and tracking

  2. Minimum of 1 year aviation industry experience in inspecting aircraft parts and paperwork.

  3. Working knowledge of FAA, JAA, TC, and DOT regulations applicable to export shipments

  4. Working knowledge of services and routes provided by freight and shipping couriers

  5. Thorough knowledge of Repair Station System inventory processes

  6. Thorough knowledge of International, Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to handling and shipping of hazardous material

  7. Thorough knowledge of cycle count, perpetual, and work-in-progress inventory audits

  8. Thorough knowledge of proper packaging for transporting parts and materials

  • Perform as assigned incoming inspection, inprocess inspection, and final inspection
  • Maintain quality control inspection tools and machinery
  • Performing various quality assurance and quality control testing
  • Perform all quality inspector functions
  • Performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs
  • Perform product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs
  • Complete all required quality inspections following inspection instructions and/or product drawings
  • Identify appropriate quality control inspection points for all manufacturing activities
  • Maintain records of inspection and quality data
  • Perform final inspection of machined parts
  • Perform final product inspection and testing of finished product
  • Improve quality control operating procedures
  • Maintain in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control
  • Insure all quality inspection records are properly completed
  • Establish inspection and production process procedures
  • Maintain records of inspections and inspection results
