Full-time, temp to hire position for a local veterinary office. Looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Pay will be based on experience. This is a great opportunity to start a career with a well established veterinary office.

The applicant must be a Certified Veterinary Technician.

The employee will be part of a growing veterinary team. They will use medical knowledge and clinical skills to provide routine and emergency nursing care under the direction of a veterinarian. Whether it’s facilitating well-check exams, administering laboratory tests, or assisting during surgery, the vet tech will support veterinarians in meeting the diagnostic and treatment needs of sick and healthy animals.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour

Job Requirements

  • Providing veterinary anatomic pathology support to animal-use research
  • Direct and supervise surgery and veterinary technicians
  • Perform handling and restraint of animals
  • Observe animals for general health and general animal room standards
  • Providing complementary pet care and traditional veterinary services
  • Perform post-operative recovery care for animals
  • Provide general animal care, cleaning and feeding
  • Administer vaccinations and minor medical treatments to animals
  • Assist with performing treatments on animals prescribed by veterinarians
  • Assist a veterinarian during surgery
  • Provide care to animals most in need
  • Ensure animals receive appropriate level of care
  • Sanitize animal rooms, hallways, and non-animal rooms
  • Show affection to the animals
  • Maintain accurate daily animal records
  • Observe the health and welfare of all facility animals and provide a proactive approach to veterinary care
  • Notify site veterinary staff of all animal health or well-being concerns
  • Perform euthanasia and necropsy of laboratory animals
  • Serve as a liaison with local veterinarians, veterinary technicians and local veterinary clinics in the area
  • Ensure timely anesthesia and surgery of in house patients
