Job Description

SUMMARY
Production Material Handlers perform a variety of tasks within their chosen department. Each associate is valued and vital to the success of their team and Deceuninck North America as a whole.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
' Perform all required duties in a safe manner by following all company policies & procedures.
' Must be able to read.
' Understand and use basic math skills.
' Lift up to 50 lbs. on a repeated basis.
' Bend, walk, sit and stand for up to a 12-hour shift.
' Push, pull, wrap and maneuver equipment and product.
' Demonstrate a positive attitude, good attendance, and a good worth ethic.
' Follow all policies and procedures of the employer.
' Complete all paperwork for your area as trained.
' Show interest in the job by asking questions and continuing to learn more about the process and equipment capability
' Work alongside team members, supervisors, and a mentor to gain an understanding of the manufacturing environment.
' Complete all assigned work with a focus on quality.
' Maintain continuous cleaning and inspection of assigned areas.
' Assist other associates as needed.
' Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocate for and promote a safe work environment by reporting near misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
' Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Take pride in your work.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
' Prior work experience in manufacturing is preferred.
' Ability to provide own transportation for scheduled shifts.
' The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
' High integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities.
' Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills. 
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. 
Job Skills:
Language Ability
Can read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Math Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume. Can apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry on the extrusion line.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions. Able to problem-solve with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Software Skills
Basic computer knowledge helpful.
Certifications
None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud requiring hearing protection
