Clarksville, Indiana - Truss builders are needed for a well established, well respected designer and manufacturer of wood trusses.

Experience is a plus but not necessary , will train as long as can use a hammer and read a tape measure.

Pay is $16.25 hourly!

Hours are Monday through Friday, 6 am - 2:45 pm. Saturdays are voluntary.

Job Requirements

 Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required on the operation. 

• Ensures that components are fabricated to established company guidelines. 

• Assists in work area set up.  

• Fits lumber and connector plates together in accordance with prescribed manner and in  accordance with quality standards.  

• Ensures correct placement of connector plates at joints and splices prior to pressing.  • Operates hand tools as required during the assembly process.  

• Operates powered machinery as necessary to complete the finished trusses, including  gantry, pneumatic lift-outs and finishing press.  

• May assist in stacking completed products in accordance with established procedures, and  if required, may cover, label and band components/finish product.  

• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.  

• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and  standards.  

• Participates in safety and other programs and meetings.  

• Assist with on the job training for all new employees on the truss fabrication team, to include  basic truss knowledge, building procedures and proper work procedures.  • Responds to all accidents immediately, ensuring that employee's safety and health is  addressed first and foremost.  

• Recommends additional safety measures to management, as necessary.  • At all times have the following tools and personal protective equipment (PPE): hammer,  work boots with steel toes, safety glasses.  

• Performs other duties as assigned. 


Physical Demands:  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use  hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
